Mount Lodge

Mount Lavinia

Mount Lavinia is at the southern point of the city seascape where the view at night is like a fairyland of lights.  The area is noted for is wonderful beachside restaurants and cafes.

A few minutes walk from the beach and close to transport and shops, Mount Lodge was designed by one of Sri Lanka's leading architects who induces an instant transformation in your mood, through the use of light, air and space.

The three story building offers  four bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, living room and garden.  You may perceive a touch of the Raj.

Owners Kevin and Jill Pereira drift from Colombo to their coastal villa, Nisala Arana, and will play excellent hosts as they pass through.  Ranjan and Ruby, the permanent management team, are also excellent hosts and have a great sightseeing knowledge if you need direction.

Modern art and open courtyards provide a relaxing respite after the bustling city of Colombo- a short journey from Colombo's sights and shops.

  • Tasty lobster on the beach whilst watching the ships line up on the horizon awaiting entry to Colombo harbour.
  • Regular train service into the city and south along the coast
  • A great first night after alighting from the plane before heading South
  •  Mount Lavinia beach is rather dirty and attracts a few undesirables during daylight.
