Cranford Bungalow

Ella Region

Overview

A newly refurbished comfortable heritage bunglalow located just 20-25 min drive from the popular walking and birdwatching region of Ella, just 3km from Bandarawela in traditional tea country.  A simple small town surrounded by specatacular landscape and waterfalls and blessed with a perfect climate year round.

The five bedrooms of Cranford can be booked separately or as an entire villa and have all the basic amenities required in the remote hill country.

The extensive gardens offer peaceful walks or relaxation in the secluded pagoda. The more energetic may wish to spend an hour playing basketball, mountain biking or dipping into the hot water jacuzzi before unwinding for the evening.

Railway buffs will be entranced by the famous Demodara Railway Loop just 15km away. Whilst nearer still are the 9 arch and 3 arch viaducts known as the Bridge in the Sky, Victorian engineering at its best.

As you would expect in the hill country, the sound of falling water is not far away.  In particular the impressive falls of Dunhida, Diyaluma and Rawana Ella are a short drive away and should not be missed.  In between each stop you may wish to indulge in afternoon tea and homemade scones at the many monasteries - St Benedicts is the most delightful but only open 2 days a week.
