Overview

A large, luxury beach villa on a quiet stretch of beach away from the commercial towns of the Southern Coast. Direct access from the beach into your 'own personal lagoon'.

Colonial style, white washed architecture set amidst 2 acres of neat lawn, peppered with delicate araliya trees and swaying palms.

Verandahs border the villa with rattan loungers and cocktail tables.  A garden pavilion, partially covered and a large swimming pool, overlook the Indian Ocean - ideal for sunbathing or breakfast.

A further living pavilion has a dining area, a pool table and a selection of board games.   An excellent management team  will welcome you before arrival with a service of preordering wine, special diet requirements etc. The owners have recently refurbished the villa to a fabulous standard. They are close family friends of a dealer and manufacturer of reproduction  furniture which is evident throughout the villa's excellent appearance.

A central courtyard with a tranquility pool  gives entrance to each of the 5 rooms which in turn look out to the ocean.

Rooms

The central sitting room is an elegant sanctuary for socialising.

Accomodating 10 guests, the 5 luxurious bedrooms have recently been finshed to an outstanding level. 3 large kingsize bedrooms with grand four poster beds.  A further 2 twins which can be interlocked if required to provide doubles.

The large rooms have antique furniture and mosquito nets draping the four poster teak beds.  The rooms stay cool due to the spotless polished cement floors, natural air flow and ceiling fans.

Each room  has an ensuite and modern bathroom with granite and polished cement modern shower room, one of which is outdoors to allow showers under the stars.  Crisp white bed linen is changed every 4 days, so request a more regular change to maintain the crisp sheet feeling each night.

Dining

Menu suggestions are provided at the beginning of the week and the chef will buy fresh produce daily to suit your tastes.  The food is not very adventurous but is beautifully served and brimming with flavour.  Fresh fish and soups are regular features.

 Samples of their menu are:

Crab Soup

Traditional curries: pumpkin, vegetable, fish, chicken

Sweet and Sour Chinese

Baked Para in ginger and lime

Grilled lobster in galin

Arrabiata pasta

Crème Caramel/frittez

Lunchtime snacks include sandwiches and salads

Homemade pineapple cake

Food is bought to order and charged at cost.  A children's menu is available, full of Western and less spicy suggestions.  BBQ's are popular and can be fired up at request.  Alcohol is not stocked, so orders for wine, spirits and preferences of soft drinks are best made in advance of arrival to ensure availability.  Dine in the pavilions to candlelight.  Galle and Unawatuna have many cosmopolitan and beach side restaurants if you fancy venturing out to a buzzing slightly commercial atmosphere.
