Auraliya villa

Nr galle

Villa Auraliya is a 6 bedroomed, luxury beach villa ideal for families and larger groups, set in the south of the island, which has so far escaped the attention of the larger hotels. Its location is right before the South coast's only lagoon so all year round swimming is possible, although weekends can become a little more crowded with locals.

A golden beach and warm seas, in a safe swimming area, provide a comfortable playground for children of all ages. The adjoining large garden dotted with fragrant araliya (frangipani) trees and coconut palms even includes an elephant bath for visiting 4 footed friends.

Accommodation is arranged in 3 pavillions in courtyard shape around a large azure swiming pool.  The terraces are set with a plentiful supply of loungers from which to gaze out to sea, or pick a shady spot beyond the 'chill out' pavillion.

A large air conditioned sitting room has cable TV and the open-air dining pavillion overlooks the inviting swimming pool.  All the pavillions are wired for music, with iPod connections.

Meals by arrangement, and to your taste, by the cook.  Meals are to your own account, but food is inexpensive in Sri Lanka and meticulous accounts will be kept for your inspection when the cook does the shopping.

A full staff of cook, houseboy, room girls and a night watchman will take good care of you during your stay.

There are six bedrooms in all neatly located around the central courtyard and pool pavilion.  The decor is light, bright yet air conditioned. White washed walls and a touch of finesse through colourful silks and cottans furnishing the 4 poster beds and mosquito nets.

The en suite bathrooms are exquisite and very spacious. They adopt a modern feel with cream granite floors and walls and modern fittings, baths and showers.

Two Master Suites with 'elephant beds' measuring 8' by 8' and a large terrazzo bath.

Two Double Rooms  of generous proportions with louvred doors, overlooking the ocean

Two Twin Rooms neighbouring the doubles, ideal for a family.  They look toward the swimming pool : just a little more than a swallow dive from bed to early morning dip or more like a "look at my dive bomb" alarm from by the children.

There are indoor and outer pavilion lounger areas, offering lots of relaxing areas for all or part of the villa party.

Breakfast is the standard Sri Lankan spread (eggs, toast, jams, fresh fruits & juices), unless you make other requests.  The new breakfast bar in front of the main pavillion makes an idea location to start the day.

The flexible dining arrangements give you plenty of scope for taking long sightseeing trips, and cook will pack a picnic for you or provide a meal for you on your return.  You may enjoy Sri Lankan dishes or Western, the cook is experienced in both styles of cooking.  Just discuss your requirements in advance and, provided with a float, he will shop daily for fresh produce. Careful accounts will be offered for your inspection.

You will find it fun and interesting to accompany him to the market occasionally to see the wonderful array of fresh fruits and vegetables and the catch of the day from the local fishermen.
